
Preparing Adults for College and Career Transitions (PACCT)

Preparing Adults for College and Career Transitions (PACCT) is a FREE, fast-paced, intensive academic program that focuses on math, reading, writing, and college readiness skills. Through the guided support of peers, instructors, and mentors, PACCT transitions adults to higher education and new careers by helping students:
- Acquire skills necessary for long-term college and career success.
- Prepare for college placement exams and coursework.
- Obtain assistance with the college enrollment procedures.
- Become part of a community of learners that will continue to college.
In addition to the above, PACCT participants will:
- Potentially save time and money by placing out of developmental classes at the start of college.
- Earn a waiver from Northwest Vista College for a mandatory College Success class.
- Receive continued PACCT advising support after conclusion of program.
Eligible Participants
Adult learners interested in improving career options, attending college for the first time, or returning to college after a break are encouraged to apply. Students must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess high school diploma or GED® certificate (or be nearing GED® completion)
- Desire to enter college degree or certificate program, or increase career potential
- Complete the application process by deadline (Click here for dates of next semester)
