Coach Munden has been swimming since he was 5 years old.  An All-State swimmer in high school, he finished 9th in 25K Open Water National Championship (1996) and was a Junior National qualifier and bronze medalist in the 800 freestyle relay (1997).  Dan was a collegiate letter winner at Northern Iowa in 200 fly, 500 free and 400 individual medley. 

Coach Munden coached with the Alamo Area club program for 11/2 seasons before becoming the assistant coach at John Jay High School.  He has been the Head Coach at Jay since August 2004.  Additionally, Coach Munden is the head Coach of the Woodridge summer league team.
