The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program was established in 1979 to encourage Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of current books, develop powers of discrimination, and identify their favorite books. Students in grades 3-5 may participate in choosing the winner of the Bluebonnet Award for this year.
Students must read or have read to them at least 5 books from the current list of nominated books to be eligible to vote. Voting will take place in the library on January 25, 2008.
All of the Bluebonnet books are also on the Accelerated Reader list and students must pass each of these tests to prove they have read or heard the book. You can visit the Texas Bluebonnet homepage at www.tla.org/groups/tla for more information. |
