George Lynn Britton, Jr. was first elected to the Board in 2003. He is a past Vice President and Secretary of the Board. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Texas PTA.
Britton graduated from Marshall High School in 1963 and earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and English from Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University. He taught Mathematics at Jay High School from 1967 until his retirement as Math Department Chairman in 2002.
He currently serves on the Alamo Service Connection’s Steering Committee, the John Jay Science and Engineering Academy Board of Directors and the Lackland AFB Community Council on Restoration. He also serves on the Bexar County/City of San Antonio (COSA) Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs, the San Antonio Zoning Board of Adjustment, CPS Energy’s Citizens Advisory Committee, and The Salvation Army Advisory Board.
Britton is a Past President of the Lackland Terrace Neighborhood Association, Past President of the Northside Educational Improvement Council and Past President of the City of San Antonio Texas Education Facilities Corporation Board. He was a founding member of the Union Pacific Railroad Community Advisory Panel.
Britton's two children, now grown, are Northside products and attended District 1 elementary and middle schools and graduated from Jay High School.
