Accelerated Reader

     The Accelerated Reader program is a reading incentive program whereby students read specially marked books and then go to a computer to take a test on their comprehension of the story. Points for books are determined by its length and reading level.
     There is a bulletin board that is displayed to show students who are in the 25, 50, and 100 point club. These students also receive a "Bear Tag." We also have a monthly schoolwide competition. The top primary class (K-2nd) and top intermediate class (3rd- 5th) receive a class set of books. Teachers may aslo hold their own incentives within thier classroom.

Cub Club

     The Cub Club is a special program for preschoolers. Parents and preschoolers are invited to a monthly program in the library which includes stories, songs, hands-on-activities, snacks and more. It is held on Early Release days from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Please look for the monthly flyer sent home for that months theme.

Texas BlueBonnet Award

     The Texas Bluebonnet Award is special to our 3rd - 5th grade students because they get to vote for their favorite book. These students must read five of the twenty titles to be eligible to vote in January.  The statewide winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award is presented in the Spring.
