| Keyboard | the instrument that a computer uses to take data input |
| Search Engine | websites on the Internet that help you look for information when you don't have a URL |
| Multi-Search Engine | websites on the Internet that look for information using more than one search engine at a time |
| Student Search Engine | selected student safe Internet website to help you look for information when you don't have a URL |
| Browser | the program that allows users to surf the Internet. (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator |
| Reload/Refresh | bringing in a webpage again because the images are bad or text is incomplete |
| Bookmark/Favorites | marking a webpage so that you can visit it again without having to type in the URL |
| Online | the act of being on the Internet |
| Webpage | a site created to be posted and viewed on the Internet |
| HTML-hypertext Markup Language | the language used to create a webpage |
| Microsoft | the company that makes Internet Explorer, as well as, Windows 95/98, 2000 and others |
| Netscape | the company that makes Navigator and Communicator |
| Hyperlink | a link to another location or another webpage. Usually identified with a "little hand". |
