The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) appropriated significant new funding for programs under Title I Part A Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Title I, Part A funds provide an unprecedented opportunity to implement innovative strategies to improve education for academically at-risk students and to close the achievement gap in Title I schools. Seven additional schools have been designated as Title I schools with ARRA funds.
