I am so pleased to be the new Principal of Business Careers High School. In the past two months, I have had the privilege of celebrating many awards which were received by our students. Four Business Professionals of America students advanced to the National Competition and placed in the top ten in the nation. Two seniors were awarded scholarships for their business plans by the National Association of Women Business Owners. The UIL Accounting Team placed 1st in District and the Financial Planning team won 2nd place in the Duel in Ol’ San Antonio competition. I am particularly proud of the fact that we had 43 students pass Microsoft Office certifications and we even had 1 BCHS student receive Master (Expert) Certification in all 4 areas. These are just to name a few.
I also enjoyed attending two senior Academy Banquets at St. Mary’s University where seniors received their cords for graduation. This was such an honor for our seniors. Then it was on to the Mentor Luncheon at Oak Hills Country Club where BCHS students had the opportunity to say “Thank You” to their mentors.
Now it is off to the 2010 Business Careers Commencement Ceremony at the Alamo Dome on Tuesday, June 8th. Seniors, we are very proud of you and your accomplishments at BCHS and we wish you the very best.
