Dear BC Students and Parents,

The Spring semester promises to be a busy one! We recently finished our recruiting visits and are now waiting for the applications to come in. Our application deadline is Feb. 17, 2010, if you know a student who is interested in a business profession who would like to apply. The Class of 2014 looks to be an outstanding group and we are looking forward to welcoming them to our campus.

The English Language Arts TAKS test is right around the corner, Wednesday, March 3rd to be exact. Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will be involved in this very important testing. Parents, we need your help in ensuring that our kids get plenty of sleep the night before and that they are well fed when they arrive that morning. Their teachers are doing an outstanding job making sure that they are ready for the exam. Our goal for each student is not just a passing score but a COMMENDED score. Thank you for helping to support our students during this time. The remainder of the TAKS tests will be in late April.

We are very excited about the new science building which is currently under construction. The building is set to open in August of 2010. Our students will be in state-of-the-art science classrooms once the building is complete.

Finally, I once again want to stress the importance of regular attendance. If your child is ill, he/she should stay home. Otherwise, we need them at school. Thank you for helping to ensure that our students are at school every day. We want to help them to be successful and that is much easier to do when they are here with us.
