ASK BUBBA

As of September 6th, 2007, Bubba will only accept one question per week from each person. He hopes this will encourage you to really make your questions good ones.

Bubba, the cowboy answer finder, has come out of retirement and is ready to start answering your questions. Put him to the test. Ask him a question. He will research it and try to give you an answer within 5 school days. If he can't find an answer, he will post your name on his Bubba Stumpers' Hall of Fame page. If your question is appropriate*,Bubba will post it for everyone to see. He'll even post the answers, if he finds them, and tell where he got them.

To ask a question, send an e-mail to jimbaker@nisd.net .

*The following types of questions are not appropriate:

1) riddles ... Bubba prefers to deal with factual information only.
2) personal questions... Don't expect Bubba to answer personal questions about you or the people you know.
3) opinion questions... Bubba has opinions, but he only gives them when he wants.
4) rude, crude, or vulgar questions... Bubba doesn't like nastiness.
5) "how many" and "how much" questions... These are questions like "How many rocks are in the Mississippi River?" and "How much does a mountain weigh?" for which a logical person should know there is no concrete answer. Bubba could give you an estimate, but what's the point?

6) NEW "Who was the first..." and "What was the first" kinds of questions, unless, parameters expressed in the question refer to periods of recorded history. Questions such as, "Who was the first person to catch a fish?" would be illegal. However, questions such as, "Who was the first person to fly across the Atlantic?" would be acceptable.
7) mean-spirited questions... Bubba wants to use his research skills to teach and empower children to do likewise. Don't ask questions for which you know there are no answers. If you want to stump Bubba, do it right. Ask him a really tough question about some obscure piece of information. He will try to answer it and gladly add you to the Bubba Stumper Hall of Fame, if he can not.

If your question is not acceptable, Bubba will notify you by E-mail.
