Introduction to Construction Careers (9-12)
A cluster course designed to familiarize
student with introductory skills and a basic understanding of
career opportunities and training requirements in six fundamental
career clusters related to construction: air conditioning and
refrigeration, bricklaying/stone masonry, carpentry, residential
electrician, painting and decorating, and plumbing/pipefitting.

Introduction to Electrical/Electronics
Careers (9-12)
A cluster course designed to familiarize students with introductory skills and basic understanding of career opportunities and training requirements in six fundamental career clusters related to electrical/electronic careers, communications electronics, electrical motor repair, business machine repair, major appliance repair, industrial electronics, and computer electronics. (Offered at Marshall, Taft, Jay and Holmes)

Introduction to Graphic Communication
Careers (9-12)
A cluster course designed to familiarize
students with introductory skills and a basic understanding of
career clusters related to graphic communications careers. Includes
printing trades, advertising design, drafting, and commercial
photography. (Offered at Jay and Marshall)

Introduction to Precision Metal Manufacturing
Careers (9-12)
A cluster course to familiarize students with
introductory skills and basic understanding of career opportunities
and training requirements for four fundamental career clusters
related to metal manufacturing careers. Includes machine shop
(cutting, drilling, turning, boring, milling, and grinding metal);
welding (oxy-fuel, shielded metal arc, metal inert gas, and tungsten
inert gas; sheet metal); measuring devices, blueprint reading,
manufacturing processes, material testing. (Offered at Clark
and Holmes)

Introduction to Transportation Service
Careers (9-12)
A cluster course designed to familiarize students
with introductory skills and basic understanding of career opportunities
and training requirements in six fundamental career clusters
related to transportation service centers; aircraft mechanics,
small engine repair, and marine engine mechanics. (Offered at
Holmes, Marshall, Clark, Jay and Stevens)

Building Trades I (10-12)
This course is designed to provide job-specific
training for entry level employment in construction related careers-carpenter,
bricklayer/stonemason, electrician, plumber, painter and decorator.

The second year course is designed to enhance
entry-level training and employment in one of the five construction
related areas. (Taft only)

Electrical Trades I, II (10-12)
The Electrical Trades program trains
students in the field of electricity. The course covers all aspects
of residential and commercial wiring including an extensive study
of the electrical codes. (Offered at Marshall only)

Facilities Maintenance Technology (10-12)
This course provides the student
with the opportunity to achieve a saleable vocational skill and
to acquire basic skills and knowledge in the fields of carpentry,
masonry, cement finishing, electrical wiring, painting, plumbing,
heating, air conditioning, gas and electric motors.
Prerequisite: None Semester: 2 Credit: 2
Automotive Technician I, II (10-12)
In Auto Mechanics the student learns
to analyze automobile defects and to perform the necessary repairs.
Instruction includes the maintenance and repair of brakes, engines,
drive lines, and front-end suspension. (Offered at Holmes, Marshall,
Clark and Jay)

Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing
I, II (10-12)
Auto paint and body trains students
in all phases of auto body repair and painting. The skills taught
include welding, sanding, spray painting, and general body repair.

Computer Maintenance Technician I & II(10-12)
2-3 Units
A pre-employment laboratory course
with job specific training for entry-level employment in the
rapidly expanding computer maintenance career field. Instruction
includes electricity/electronic theory, computer systems, data-communications,
digital electronics, installations, inspections, adjustments,
repair and maintenance, entrepreneurship, safety, leadership,
and career opportunities.

Drafting I & II ( 10-12)
A course designed to provide job-specific
training for entry-level employment in drafting careers. The
first year instruction is on sketching, lettering, dimensioning,
and line development,; us of descriptive geometry; development
of electrical and electronic drawings; mechanical, welding, and
architectural drawings; and fundamentals of CAD.
Prerequisite: Intro to Construction Careers
Recommended Semester: 2 Credit: 2
Metal Trades I, II (10-12)
In Metal Trades students train in
the use of all machinist hand tools, drill presses, engine lathe,
grinders, and milling machines. Training in oxyacetylene welding
and cutting, basic arc, mig, and tig welding are also included.

Small Engine Repair (10-12) 2 Units
A pre-employment laboratory course
with job specific training for entry-level employment in the
rapidly expanding small engine repair career field. The courCareer & Technology Educationse
includes welding, small engine repair, and general overhaul and
maintenance. (Offered at Jay only)

Aircraft Mechanics I (11-12)
Instruction is designed to provide job specific training at an approved off-campus aviation facility for employment in the highly technical career field of aircraft mechanic. First year instruction includes aircraft electrical, and electronic systems, service and repair of hydraulic systems, airframes, and rigging. Leads towards FAA certification.
Prerequisite: Application and acceptance into Alamo Area Aviation Academy Semester: 2 Credit: 3
Aircraft Mechanics II (11-12)
Students in the second year of instruction
will select a specific track in either aircraft infrastructures
or turbine technology. The students continue progress toward
FAA Certification.
Prerequisite: Aircraft Mechanics I Semester: 2

Introduction to Cosmetology (9-12)
This course will allow the student to explore such areas as hair styling, manicuring, shampooing and the principles of hair cutting, hair coloring and facial makeup. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a better understanding of the art and science of beauty care.

Cosmetology I, II (11-12)
This course is designed to prepare
students to enter the field of cosmetology with skills in areas
of receptionist, skin care operator, manicurist, hair care operator,
hair designer, hair shaper, chemical relaxing operator, chemical
waving operator, hair colorist, and salon manager. This course
will cover a period of two school years, and students must enroll
for the full two years. (Offered at Holmes and Jay )

Internetworking Technology I & II
( Cisco Networking Academy ) (10-12)
A program that prepares students
to take the Cisco Certified Network Administrator Certification
Test. This certification will provide students with entry level
positions in the Information Technology Industry. The course
covers electricity/electronics, computer systems, data communications,
troubleshooting devices, and career opportunities. (Offered at
Clark, Taft, Marshall and Warren)
