Independent Study Mentorship
Independent Study Mentorship is a course that allows high school
juniors and seniors the opportunity to focus their studies on a particular area
of interest. The program offers students the opportunity to explore potential college
majors and career paths that may not have otherwise been discovered through regular
academic courses. ISM students receive first-hand experience by visiting with a mentor
working in the field of the student's choosing. Extensive research and additional mentor
visits outside the required on hour per week help to further enhance the experience. In the
second semester, students focus their work on a final project to be presented to
families, peers, teachers, and mentors.
