LESSON TITLE: Argentina

CONTENT OBJECTIVE(S):

    1. The student will understand the culture of Argentina.
    2. The student will appreciate cultural differences between Argentina, Spain, Mexico, and his/her own culture in south Texas and the United States.
    3. The student will locate information on the topic using the Internet, library, and textbook.
    4. The student will use scanner or digital camera for graphics.
    5. The student will demonstrate his/her knowledge to the class using a PowerPoint presentation.

LESSON PROCEDURE:

Two people to a team.

      5. Peron/Evita--life/marriage/politics/broadway play

      6. Tango--dance/music/history/movies

      7. Buenos Aires--people/sites/Rio de la Plata/weather/goods

      8. Literature-- Jorge Luis Borges/Art (abstract)

      9. Pablo Neruda

      10. Government

      11. Economics--Beef + by Products, Wine

      12. Independence

    1. Research information using Internet, library, and textbook.
    2. Create eight slides and write sentences or list facts in Spanish. Each person can create slides, and then slides can be combined into one show. Mrs. Ratliff will help you with this procedure.
    3. Oral presentation will be 90% in Spanish
    4. Turn in a hard copy of the slide show in handout view with three slides per page. This will be your written grade.
    5. Your presentation should not take more than 20 minutes of class time.
    6. This is a major test grade, an oral test grade and a daily grade.
    7. Stay on task! Your work in lab is a daily grade.
    8. Be creative.
    9. Expand for more puntos.
