The student will study Poe's background

SUBJECT AREA TEKS:

A. Divide class into 6 groups of 5 or so.
B. Assign each group a specific assignment.

"The Masque of the Red Death" – masks, masked balls, & Black
Death

"Annabel Lee" - alliteration, wife Virginia, purpose of rhyme
and rhythm

"The Raven" – poetry terms such as symbolism, tone, and setting
C. Each group will research the assigned topic using the hot list.
D. Each group will make and present a PowerPoint presentation.

DIRECTIONS:

Groups will use PowerPoint to produce presentation on topic

Use up to 20 slides

Slide 1--Title slide (be creative--not just Edgar Allan Poe) Include all
group member names.

Use around 15 slides covering information on assigned topic.

Include at least 2 slides at the end with 3-5 quiz questions from the presentation

Last or next to last slide should be a Works Cited page with all sites
used (at least 3)

Use no more than six words on a line and no more than six text lines
per slide
