Within the context of rapid technological change, competitive market conditions and educational reform, the American education system is challenged with providing increased educational opportunities without increased budgets. Many educational institutions are answering this challenge by developing distance education programs. The World Wide Web, in particular, provides an exciting new opportunity for distance teaching and learning.

You will study many of the issues relevant to online teaching and learning in this Web-based course. The course contains four learning modules, accessed via the navigation sidebar on the left of the screen. Each module consists of three or more lessons. Proceed through the modules and lessons in sequence and you will be well on your way to understanding how to meet the needs of your students ... and perhaps yourself ... in Cyberspace!
