Friday Forum brings field trip
opportunities to Rawlinson MS
An Air Force Rock Band, the Knights of the Guild, the Border Patrol canine unit, a ropes course, techno poetry are
among a series of assemblies and “field trips” in what Rawlinson MS calls Friday Forum.
“Friday Forum allows us to bring a variety of educational ‘field trips’ to our students and gives our teachers time to plan,” says Nancy Pena, principal. “It is a great opportunity for all. It also gives our parents an opportunity to get involved in the educational process.”
Students attended one of two assemblies (the Air Force Rock Band or the Knights of the Guild) and one break out session. Break out session topics included: classroom history lessons from the Institute of Texan Cultures, History Alive presentation, Techno Poetry, Science of Magic, Fun-Damental Forces, Archeology, Movie Effects, CSI Health Science Center, Financial Planning, Ropes Challenge Course, Border Patrol canine unit, and Pottery.
