Northside Independent School District's Communications Arts High School is a magnet school housed on the William Howard Taft High School campus as a "school within a school." We are located just outside Loop 1604 on Highway 471 in Northwest San Antonio.

Our mission is to prepare students for success in college, in the work place, and in life by providing a challenging academic program focusing on the development of exceptional skills in communications.

Northside Independent School District and its partners, KSAT-TV, KVDA-TV, the San Antonio Express-News, WOAI Radio and the Trinity University Center for Educational Leadership have collaboratively combined their resources for the innovative Communications Arts High School.

Any Bexar County eighth grade student may apply for admission. Out-of-district students must pay tuition. Each year, approximately 130 freshmen are accepted to enter the four-year program. An admissions committee reviews each application for acceptance. Other magnet schools in our district are:

Business Careers High School
Health Careers High School
John Jay Science Academy
