On Nov. 12, 1999, as two Rhodes Station drivers were completing their morning routes, they happened on an accident scene which involved a car that had rolled off a bridge. The driver of the car had reported her accident but was unable to tell rescue officials where she was located. A countywide search had not turned up anything.

The drivers, Rowena Falco and Debbie Navy, saw the car in a ditch by a bridge. One stopped to render aid and the other called in the location to 911. Because the drivers sit so high in their buses, they were able to see over the guardrail and locate the accident victim. These two Northside bus drivers as not only good Samaritans but also good citizens, and because of their actions they were honored as the first Northside Citizenship Award recipients.
