I love science!! I have always been interested in all different aspects of science. I love doing labs and analyzing data, and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I love to see someone get excited about what they are learning.

We will be learning about ecology and the environment, motion and energy, and living systems. In order to accomplish all of our learning goals, we will be conducting many labs. Please remember that safety is always my first concern when we are conducting labs. Please make sure you and your parents have signed and returned the safety contract.

Please remember to look over your classroom procedures sheet so you will know exactly what I except of you in class. We will be working in 45 minute periods, so the class time will go by fast!!

Beginning of Class
1. Enter class with necessary materials (planner, team binder, homework, and pencils).
*Once you enter the room, you stay in the room! Please take care of water and restroom breaks before you come to class.
2. Sharpen pencils.
3. Sit in your assigned seat.
4. Copy agenda in your planner and complete warm up.
Whole Class Instruction
1. Actively listen and participate in class.
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak and to leave seat.
Transition Time
1. Listen closely for directions.
2. Gather necessary materials.
3. Move binders to sides of the room quietly.
4. Do not speak unless permission is given.
Lab Activities
1. Monitor voice volume.
2. Remain actively engaged in the activity.
3. Respect group members' space, property, and feelings.
4. Give positive feedback, comments, or suggestions at all times.
End of Class
1. Return materials neatly and appropriately arrange furniture.
2. Pick up all trash even if it is not yours.
3. You will be dismissed by Ms. Sorenson.
Grading Percentages
Daily - 20%
Labs - 40%
Tests- 40%
