Grades K- 2
GT students in grades K-2 participate in activities that promote creative and independent thinking. Services are delivered by the classroom teacher and/or the GT specialist.
Grades 3-5
Northside Independent School District gifted students in grades 3-5 meet each week to attend classes where they study in small groups with a G/T resource teacher. Interdisciplinary, process-centered mini-studies are designed for these students. Careful interest is paid to students' interests and to their unique learning characteristics.
Other Elementary services for Gifted Education include
- Credit by examination
- Scheduling modifications to meet individual needs
- Appropriate resources, materials, and learning activities
- Opportunities to learn at a pace and level appropriate to abilities and skills
In grades 6-8, students participate in the ALPHA Middle and EXCEL programs.
