Driggers Teaching Gardens

The American Heart Association and Aetna have teamed up to award a Teaching Garden grant to Rita Kay Driggers Elementary!
This program uses a school garden to teach students about nutrition and inspire them to eat more fruits and vegetables.
They will also learn how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants, harvest produce, and ultimately understand the value of good eating habits.

Jump Rope 4 Heart a Success!

Driggers raised more than it ever has before! We collected $3,966.69 for the American Heart Association.

We raised $1,000 more than last year. The staff really stepped up to the plate. Mrs Driggers and Driggers teachers donated $535 combined!

The whole school is excited about our upcoming Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed our way!

At the Book Fair you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents. You can also shop online!

Mark your calendar for our Open House Family Event is on Tuesday, March 5th from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. Donate some great books for your child's teacher!

The Book Fair is a great way to get everyone excited about reading.

From January 28th to February 22nd, Driggers Students will be jumping rope during PE to raise money for the American Heart Association. Envelopes and donations are due February 22nd. Celebrations will be February 13th and 14th during PE....

Driggers Gets New Science Wall Murals

Science murals are going up in our 5th grade hallway. Murals were funded through our school-wide Fall Popcorn Fundraiser. Our science murals will be a daily reminder of science concepts in the areas of all sciences (life, physical and earth) for all our students. Targeted vocabulary will be displayed to reinforce science academic vocabulary. So far we have a Solar System and an Ecosystem murals. Take a look at the progress so far. Click to see pictures...
