Elrod Strut Walk-a-thon Sponsored by PTA

Elrod's PTA came up with a very unique fundraiser... a walk-a-thon. Students collected pledges to raise
much needed funds for our school. Even though it was a rainy day, our spirits weren't dampened. The Eagle
Strut Walk-a-thon was a hit with the students and a huge success for Elrod.

Elrod's Green Team in Action!

Elrod's Green Team's objective is to recycle, recycle, recycle all the paper and boxes at Elrod they can.
Green Team members are 3rd graders and go from classroom to classroom collecting boxes of paper for
recycle each and every Friday afternoon. Their motto? Recycling, it's a good thing to do.

Music Teacher, Ms. Loudermilk, lead the Elrod 4th and 5th grade choir singing holiday songs
from around the world. Accompanying the choir on his guitar, is our fourth grade
teacher, Mr. Martinez.

| Elrod students, in grades 2-5, had the opportunity to learn about many other cultures recently. Men and women came from the Defense Language Institute at Lackland AFB representing various countries around the world. These men and women are studying the English language at Lackland AFB to become better teachers in their native countries. They talked to Elrod students in 2-5 grades to improve their English speaking skills. They taught students about their native land. |
