NEF Committees
Each Board member volunteers for a minimum of two committees. The Vice-President position oversees the Committees according to the NEF Organizational Chart.

Endowment Banquet Pillar Recognition

This committee meets a minimum of three times a year to plan the annual Endowment Banquet and Pillar Recognition. This is one of two NEF premier fundraising efforts and in 2009 netted $161,301.90.
Banquet Live & Silent Auctions

The auction committee is a sub-group of the Endowment Banquet & Pillar Recognition Committee. The enormity of both auctions led to the creation of the committee as a separate entity. It meets primarily in the months of June, July and August every other week. With more than 100 packaged auction items and seven silent auction items, the 2009 auctions netted $44,069.58.
Spring 'Fore' Education Golf Tournament

This committee plans the annual Spring golf tournament held at Oak Hills Country Club. The committee meets a minimum of once per year and via e-mail as is necessary. In 2009, the Spring golf tournament netted $35,639.45.
Fall 'Fore' Education Golf Tournament

This committee plans the annual Fall golf tournament and meets a minimum of once per year and via e-mail as is necessary. The location of the tournament varies from year to year. In 2009, the Fall golf tournament netted $30,094.
Spring 5K Run/Walk

This committee plans the annual 5K Run/Walk and meets a minimum of three times a year. This event not only serves as a fundraiser for NEF, but is part of Northside ISD’s wellness initiative. In 2009, the Spring Run/Walk netted $12,655.
Six Flags Family Days

This committee plans the annual sale of Six Flags Fiesta Texas tickets. Northside ISD schools sell the tickets at a reduced rate. For every ticket sold, the school earns $2.50 and NEF earns $2.50. For every ticket sold in the NEF Office, the Foundation earns $5. In 2009, campuses and the Foundation received total of $20,960 from ticket sales.
Alumni Outreach

The first of two new initiatives. This committee is still in the formation process and as of March, 2010 has yet to meet. However, the initiative’s goal is to reach out to Northside ISD alumni and have them participate in the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Parental Outreach

The second of two new initiatives. This committee is still in the formation process and as of March, 2010 has yet to meet. However, the initiative’s goal is to reach out to Northside ISD parents and have them participate in the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
NISD Employee Pledge Drive

The second of NEF’s premier fundraising efforts. This committee meets a minimum of three times a year to plan and implement Northside ISD’s Employee Pledge Drive. In 2009, $174,076.25 was raised during the annual pledge drive.
Annual Meeting

This committee plans the NEF annual meeting and meets a minimum of once per year. The annual meeting is a required meeting and is not a fundraiser. Instead, it is a celebration of the Foundation’s accomplishments and a "thank you" to donors.
Pillar Selection

This committee meets once a year to choose the six Pillars of Characters honored at the endowment banquet. They are graduates of Northside ISD schools who have gone on to excel in their chosen career. The committee is comprised of the NEF President, President-elect, Past-President, NISD Trustee Rep, NISD Superintendent, Endowment Banquet Co-Chairs, Vice-President of Communications and NEF Executive Director.
Classroom Innovation, Mini-Grants, & Innovator-of-the-Year

This committee meets as needed to read and choose the classroom innovation grants, mini-grants and Innovator-of-the-Year. Innovation grants are grants up to $1000, mini-grants up to $500 and Innovator-of-the-Year is a Northside ISD employee who created and implemented an innovative idea that can be replicated throughout the District.
TEAM Grants

This committee meets as needed to choose grant winners for the TEAM grants. TEAM grants are awarded up to $10,000 once a school year.
New Teacher Grants

This committee meets once a year to award the New Teacher Grants. New Teacher Grants are $100 and a way to introduce new teachers to the NEF grant process.
Los Leones Student Arts Festival

This committee meets a minimum of four times a year to plan and implement the Los Leones Student Arts Festival. The Festival is a collaborative effort between Northside ISD, NEF and the City of Leon Valley.
Nominating
John Casstevens, Vice President/Administration
This committee meets only when new board members are nominated to the board or if a change in nominating procedures is necessary. The committee is comprised of the Vice-President of Administration, President, President-Elect and Past President.
By-Laws Review

This committee meets only when necessary and has the goal of reviewing by-laws and recommending changes to the NEF Board of Directors.
Strategic Planning
This committee meets only when needed. The current strategic plan expires in 2013.
Finance & Budget
Vaughn Bomberger, Treasurer
The Finance and Budget committee meets every other month beginning in January. The goal of the committee is to provide guidance and in site to the Board of Directors regarding investments, finance policy and budgets for fundraising efforts.
Audit

The Audit Committee reviews the annual audit provided by the official contracted auditor. The committee is comprised of the Treasurer, President, NEF Executive Director, Accountant, Bookeeper, Auditor, Tax Preparer, and the Northside ISD Assistant Superintendent for Finance.
