Brenda Gallardo - Principal
Dear Kay Franklin Elementary Families & Friends,

I am Brenda Trigo Gallardo the extremely proud Principal of Kay Franklin Elementary. The Kay Franklin community has embarked on the journey of establishing what we now call our home away from home. Together, with our namesake Kay Franklin, we have created an atmosphere that is a positive, fun and inviting place for your children. Our students work towards “Maximizing their potential EVERY DAY at Kay Franklin Elementary.”

I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. Go Runners! I am currently in my 23rd year in education and every year is filled with new, positive experiences. Before coming to Northside ISD, I had the opportunity to work in La Joya ISD at the elementary school I attended as a child. This was a great experience. I continued my educational career with Northside ISD at Eduardo Villarreal Jr. Elementary where I spent 13 years of my career.

Kay Franklin Elementary is filled with dynamic, enthusiastic, and hardworking students, parents, teachers and community members who are committed to working together to help our school achieve success. I look forward to serving our students and their families as we continue to strive towards excellence in all that we do at Kay Franklin Elementary.

Hello Kay Franklin Elementary Families & Friends,

My name is Juan D. Perez (JD) and I am excited to begin my administration career at Kay Franklin Elementary. I was able to help open Kay Franklin Elementary back in 2013. Prior to becoming an administrator, I was a Math Staff Development Teacher and 4th/5th grade teacher.

I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I then obtained my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M – San Antonio. I have been an educator for the past 12 years, 10 of those being with Northside ISD. My first year of teaching was with Midlothian ISD.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, the outdoors, exercising, spending time with my family, dog, and friends, and watching/attending sporting events. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to help lead Franklin alongside Mrs. Gallardo, staff, and community.

Start Strong, Stay Strong, Finish Strong!
