WHEN?
The library is available to students, parents, teachers and the community throughout the school day. The library opens every morning at 7:25 AM and closes at 3:15 PM Tuesday through Thursday and at 2:45 Monday and Friday. Occasionally, we will have meetings and other special events scheduled which will require that the library be closed, but an explanation will be posted on the entry doors.
WHAT?
Kindergarten students may check out one book at a time. All other students may check out two books at a time. Parents and community members may check out five books at a time. The circulation period is for two weeks but books can be renewed.
HOW?
All students have a 20 minute check out time scheduled during the eight day rotation. However, students are invited to visit the library independently to borrow books, work on assignments or to do research. All grade levels will visit the library on a scheduled rotation for lessons with the librarian that are integrated, curriculum based, and address Northside standards. These lessons encourage higher order thinking skills and problem solving strategies as well as literature appreciation.
