FAQ #11
What are the rules on bringing cell phones and other telecommunication devices to school during state testing?
Parents, we need to let you know that the policy on the use of telecommunication / recording devices has changed. District policy in the NISD Student/Parent Handbook (Section C-8) states: “Use of a telecommunication or recording device during state testing could result in the invalidation of the student's test scores.” This means that your student's test score would not be scored if, after careful investigation, it is determined that they violated test security by using any telecommunication or recording device during testing. It is best that your student leave their cell phones at home, in their cars or in their lockers on testing days. IF a student keeps their cell phone with them all day, they will be required to leave them turned off and stored in their purse or back pack. We need you to help us maintain the secure testing environment by refraining from calling your student during a testing day. If you have a family emergency, please call the campus office and we will contact your student for you.
