Procedures
- Students will work in 5 separate task forces (groups) to research and present the information back to their classmates. The idea is that by "jigsawing" this piece of the unit, time will be used more efficiently to cover and present each lesson.
- The class will view the Introduction Video together.
- The teacher will assign about 5 students to each of the 5 task forces.
- Every student within the task force will have a job to do. The teacher can help with this if necessary. The students can each take a different concept of the lesson to cover or they can perform a different task in researching, compiling, & presenting the materials. Either way they will have to work together closely during the entire process.
- Students will keep a daily science journal to document both their individual and group activities.
- Once students have gathered their information and created their project, they will present it to the class.
- During presentations, the other students will be filling in the graphic organizer for each lesson that is presented.
