Annie L. Holmes was elected to the Board in 2003 and is a past two-time Secretary of the Board. She is Chairwoman of the Policy and Intergovernmental Relations committee and is a member of the Finance, Technology, and Building committees. She is also Northside's delegate at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Convention.
Holmes is an active volunteer in civic, charity, and community affairs. She is a past Vice President and Board member of the Meadow Village Neighborhood Association, and is a past member of Community Advisory Committee and Coalition of Neighborhood Associations.
Holmes earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Southwest Texas State University and was a substitute teacher in Northside schools for 10 years. She retired from federal civil service in 1995, after 28 years at Lackland Air Force Base and Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital's Human Resource Management Department.
Holmes and her husband, Albert, have four children, Albert Jr., a graduate of Jefferson High School, and Joan, Jackie, and Joyce, graduates of Jay High School. They also have four great-grandchildren currently attending Northside schools.
