"Public education is one of the most important foundations upon which America is built. If we are to survive as a free society, the institution must be protected, preserved and improved. All citizens owe a debt of gratitude to public education, and should feel an obligation to serve and support our schools beyond mere payment of taxes. Membership on the Northside Board of Trustees has been one of the most fulfilling undertakings of my life. The thought of serving almost 82,000 students and over 11,000 teachers, administrators and staff, is both humbling and inspiring. My hope is that the current Trustees of our district will continue to channel their talents and cooperative spirit into meeting the educational challenges and opportunities that face our diverse community."
