The current student-operated Colby Glass Broadcasting system, entitled CGTV, has televised the morning announcements to all classrooms via the mounted TVs for four years. This program was initiated as a method of using students to convey the announcements with interactive technology instead of the standard microphone/speaker based system.

The CGTV crew is comprised of two 5th grade teams containing seven members each. Students must pass through two levels of the audition process to serve on the CGTV production team. Using a trainer of trainers model, outgoing 5th grade students train 4th grade students for the upcoming year. These students set up the lights, cameras, microphones, laptop, and all other facets required for operating the CGTV broadcast. Students rotate through these six positions over the year: Director, Assistant Director, Anchor 1, Anchor 2, Camera/Sound Technician, and Computer Technician.

Students enjoy using the internet to gather reports for the weather, sports, quote of the day, and “today in history.” Each student has the opportunity to appear as a guest on CGTV to lead the pledges to the US & TX state flags. In addition, students discuss positive character traits for the month such as citizenship, fairness, trustworthiness, respect, caring, and responsibility. Broadcasts reach all 528 students and integrate technology into the curriculum.
