- 11 rural school districts combine to form Northside Consolidated School District #1.
- There are 823 students enrolled.

- Northside Consolidated School District #1 changes to Northside Rural High School District #1 on August 12, 1950.

| 1955- |
- Northside Rural High School District #1 becomes Northside Independent School District
- A $75,000 bond issue is passed to build a junior high school, an elementary school (now Colby Glass Elementary), and a gym and band room on the high school campus.
- The year also marks the beginning of integration when African American students are allowed to enroll in Northside High School .

- Northside Elementary School (now Colby Glass Elementary opens. Cost is approximately $180,000.
- The building providesten classrooms (the current "G" wing), a cafetorium, and office facilities.

- Mr. Vernon G. Zunker is named Principal, serving until 1957.

- Construction of additional classrooms are completed on the original campus of Colby Glass Elementary, forming the now called "E" wing.
- Northside Elementary School (now Colby Glass Elementary) changes its name to Sunset Hills Elementary.

- Mr. William C. Helton is named Principal, serving until 1960.
- Northside Junior High School opens (now Sul Ross Middle School ).

Mr. Colby Glass is named Principal of Sunset Hills Elementary (now Colby Glass Elementary). He serves as Principal from 1960-1984. |

- District enrollment is 5,545 students.
- Pat Neff Jr. High School opens.

| The kitchen at Colby Glass Elementary is renovated. |
| 1964- |

- The second high school (Holmes) is added when district enrollment reaches 9,333 students.

- District enrollment reaches 19,092 students.

- Computers and TVs are brought aboard at the district level to issue paychecks and perform various business procedures.
- District enrollment reaches 29,223 students by the mid-1970's.

- Air conditioning is added to Colby Glass Elementary!

1976- |
- Construction occurs for a new building containing 2 Kindergarten classrooms, a resource and teacher workroom at Colby Glass Elementary (now called the "F" wing).
- In addition, construction includes a music classroom and an expansion of the Library.
- Current enrollment in NISD reaches 30,109.

- The gym is completed at Colby Glass Elementary.

| 1980's- |
- District enrollment reaches 42,167 students on 42 campuses.
- Northside is named the fastest growing district in Texas.

- Sunset Hills (now Colby Glass) Elementary School's motto is "Catch 'em Being Good."
- Judy Sezech (Bales) initiates Officers in Blue with the help of SAPD Officer, Andy Gorman, our bike rodeo officer.
- The original motto is "Men in Blue, We Love You."

- All 2,300 of Northside teachers receive pay raises, making beginning teachers with Bachelor's degrees the highest paid in San Antonio.
- As a result, Personnel receives 19 applications for each available teaching position.

- Mr. Colby Glass retires from NISD after spending the last 24 years at Sunset Hills (now Colby Glass) Elementary.
- Mrs. Patricia Blattman is named Principal, serving until 1986.

- The office is expanded at Colby Glass Elementary.
- Mayor Cisneros presents Sunset Hills (now Colby Glass) Elementary with a proclamation for "Men in Blue" day.

- Mr. William Bechtol is named Principal, serving until 1991.
|
| 1987- |
- The office is renovated at Colby Glass Elementary.
|
| 1988- |
- Sunset Hills Elementary (originally Northside Elementary School) changes its name to Colby Glass Elementary.
- The mascot is also changed from the Shining Stars to the Li'l Huskies.
- Students in this area will now grow up to become the Holmes High School Huskies.

- Construction begins at Colby Glass Elementary to add administrative offices, a stage, the "H" wing classrooms, and expand the kitchen.

| 1990's- |

- During the 90's, Northside grows to become the sixth largest district in the state.
- By the end of the 90's, district enrollment reaches 61,315 students, and college enrollment for Northside graduates is at 80%.
- Colby Glass is a state Recognized Campus in 1998-99, from 2000 through 2003, and 2006-07!

- Mrs. Barbara McClung is named Principal, serving until 1994.

- Mrs. Patricia Lambert is named Principal and is still currently serving our campus today.
- Mayor Nelson Wolff presents Sunset Hills (now Colby Glass) Elementary with another proclamation of "Men in Blue Day."

- NISD mourns the loss of Mr. Colby Glass who passes on at the age of 78
|
| 2001- |
- Colby Glass Elementary undergoes a boundary change.
- Enrollment at Colby Glass Elementary is at 488 students.

| 2005- |
- Enrollment at Colby Glass Elementary is at 575 students.
|
| 2006- |
- Campus enrollment is at 604 students.
- Colby Glass Elementary celebrates 50 years of educating children since 1956!
