I am
a guidance counselor at John Glenn and Lackland City Elementary and I have been in Northside for twenty-eight years. I work with grades first through fifth providing guidance lessons. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Maryland and a Master of Education Degree from Southwest Texas State University. All of my teaching experience has been at the elementary level. I have been an elementary school counselor for seventeen years. I am married and have five grown children and nine grandchildren. I enjoy working with children and being a part of their learning experience.

The Guidance Program at John Glenn Elementary

John Glenn's Guidance Program offers many services that assist students in acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for healthy development. Through a continuum of services that are offered, the Guidance Department recognizes that parents, school personnel and the community each have important roles to play and valuable resources to contribute in assisting students with their development.

The Advisory Programm

The Northside Independent School District Advisory Program, an integral component of the Pre K-12 educational program, enables students to belong and contribute to a community, apply the goal-setting process, and develop academic, personal, social, and career competence. Students meet in small groups on a weekly basis with trained, caring advisors who are in partnership with parents to personally assist students.
