The last two months have been very busy in the music department. Right after Spring Break the second grade class began working on a spring program. They presented their program on Tuesday, May 6. It was called Broadway Beat and it included songs from Broadway shows. It featured singers, dancers, and speakers. The fifth grade strings students kicked off the show by playing the songs that they learned this year in class.
As we move closer to the end of the year the PE dept. has concluded their part in the Healthy fitness Grant for this year. We would like to thank the parents and students that were randomly selected to participate in the grant. We will continue to enhance the importance of being healthy by having students participate in nutrition and health activities. We will also continue to develop the students’ soccer skills by practicing ball control.

It seems only yesterday that school started. The students began the school by learning how to log into their personal accounts which contained their lessons. It's great seeing how much the students have progressed from where they began to where they are at now. We have also learned that the use of computers is more than just for games, but they are the way of the future for the jobs that may have not even been created. The students take great pride in knowing how to log in on their own, how they have learned how to use Microsoft Office and how to use the Internet safely. I have encouraged them to keep working on their typing skills. Here is a link that kids love to use that will help with that: http://www.freetypinggame.net
