Why is it important to register my child for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year?
Because of growing enrollment, state-mandated class size requirement, and not enough classrooms, many schools lack space. When the maximum number of students per grade level is reached, and no additional classroom space is available, newly enrolled students will be transferred to a nearby cluster school (in our case, Evers Elementary). By enrolling now, and attending the first day of school, your child is more likely to have a space at Hatchett, and not be transferred.

What are the dates for Priority Registration for Hatchett Elementary?
On April 10, 2008, your child will bring home a registration packet for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year. Complete all registration forms fully and return them as soon as possible. Priority Registration for students currently attending Hatchett Elementary will extend from April 10 to April 21, 2008.

What is meant when Hatchett Elementary is referred to as a capped school?
For the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year, Hatchett Elementary will be designated a capped school. It is projected that Hatchett will be extremely limited in space available. No new classroom space is anticipated to be available. When no additional space is available, newly enrolled students will be transferred to a nearby cluster school (in our case, Evers Elementary).

What is needed to register a returning (in district) student for the following 2008-2009 academic year?
