How to Apply for Admission
Students entering the ninth grade who desire to apply for admission to Northside Health Careers High School should download and submit an application. The initial application deadline has passed, but students interested in applying may do so, and those applications will be considered as space occurs after the initial lottery.
We accept students from any school district.Applications for some tenth and eleventh grade spots are accepted.
- Applications for upperclassmen for the 2008-2009 school year are due by Friday, June 20, 2008.
- Applications are available in the front office at HCHS or by selecting the "Applications" link above.
- No tuition is charged for any student to attend HCHS.
Minimum Qualifications for Eighth GradersStudents must have an interest in a health/medical career. Students must be completing the eighth (8th) grade. Students must have at least a C average in their core subjects in middle school. Students must have satisfactory conduct, attendance and standardized test scores.
NOTE: The Admissions/Screening Committee will review each student's academic and disciplinary records. All applications that meet the minimum criteria are then placed in a lottery pool. Selection is by lottery.
Materials to be Submitted A completed application form and an official copy of the student's transcript are necessary for consideration.The transcript should include a copy of the middle school PRC (6th and 7th grades and standardized test results), a copy of the student's most recent report card, and a copy of standardized test results through the previous year. A paragraph handwritten by the applicant entitled Why I Want to Attend Health Careers High School is also required.
