Scholarship Sweepstakes

SunTrust is having a Scholarship Sweepstakes.  They will award $1,000 Scholarships and $250.00 SunTrust gift cards to Seniors.  There will be one winner every two weeks through 05/11/07.   

REGISTRATION BEGINS – September 15, 2006

First Drawing – October 31, 2006 with Drawings every 2 wks through May 11, 2007

Guidelines:
TX Dept. of Transportation is having the 2007 International Aviation Art Contest. The theme is "Airfield" and must be postmarked by 01/12/07. Please see Mrs. Diaz in the Career Center for details.
This is an art contest not a scholarship competition.

 

Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU)

will award fifteen $1,000, one-time scholarships.  Applicants will be selected based on academic achievement, character, and community and extra-curricular involvement.

DEADLINE – October 27, 2006 

 Guidelines:

  • All students must be SSFCU members, or child/grandchild of a member
  • Students must be in the top 15% ranking of the graduating class and be a graduating high school student in the Spring of 2007
  • Application completion, transcripts, teacher recommendation and essay are required

Game Day Application Workshops in College Station

The Office of Admissions and Records at Texas A&M University is hosting two Aggie Game Day Application Workshops.  These
workshops are scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2006, and Saturday, November 4, 2006.

The Workshops consists of a presentation on the freshman admissions process, hints on completing a competitive freshman application, and time for individual questions.  Those attending need to bring the following:

  • a completed paper application or
    printed version of the online application,
  • essays,
  • resumes, and
  • any other material that may be relevant
    to their application.

The first Aggie Game Day Application Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 1:00 PM.  The Workshop start time is subject to change since the start time of the football game may change. The Workshop will end prior to the football game.  So, you won't have to miss a single play!

is currently available.

The second Game Day Application Workshop will be in San Antonio on Saturday, September 16, 2006, prior to the Texas A&M vs. Army football game at the Alamodome.

The Workshop is scheduled at Sunset Station from 12PM to 3PM. Participants will attend a presentation on freshman admissions
and financial aid, receive tips on submitting a competitive freshman application, and receive assistance from TAMU staff in completing their applications.  In addition, several prizes will be given away to Workshop attendees including two $500 book scholarships and tickets to the Texas A&M vs. Army football game.

Participants should bring the following items to the
Workshop:

  • completed paper application or
    printed version of the completed
  • online application,
  • essays, and
  • resume.
