Summer Reading

The Health Careers High School student newspaper is The Voice.  Published seven times each school year, The Voice strives to cover news relevant to the HCHS community in a responsible manner that meets the highest standards for journalistic integrity.  Student editors and staff members work diligently to write stories, take photographs, design layouts and sell advertising to support this publication endeavor.  If you have suggestions for The Voice or would like to advertise with us, please contact advisor Shannon Kelly at ShannonKelly @ nisd.net or (210) 397-5421.

As with any publication, The Voice sets achievement goals.  Goals for the 2007-08 school year include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing at least seven issues
  • Incorporating color into each issue
  • Increasing advertising revenues
  • Making each issue of the paper available from the HCHS website

The Health Careers High School yearbook is The Pulse.  Delivered each fall, The Pulse serves to chronicle each year for students and faculty so that each edition tells a  comprehensive story of the school year.  Students and HCHS community wishing to purchase a yearbook can visit Room 137 or buyayearbook.com

 

As with any publication, The Pulse sets achievement goals.  Goals for the 2007-08 school year include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing at a comprehensive, error-free 224-page book
  • Increasing the number of pages featured in color
  • Increasing advertising revenues
