Formal Screening of students for possible participation in the G/T Program
continues throughout the school year. Nominations may be made by
teachers, parents, and community members. Nominations must be submitted
in writing to the GT/Enrichment Specialist. Students are eligible for screening
only once in a twelve month period.
Once a student is nominated for the program, a variety of data is gathered
on each child. A profile is completed on each student which includes
results from the following tests:

ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) Reading and Math

CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) Verbal, Quantitative
& Non-verbal

TTCT (Torrance Test of Creative Thinking)

Behavioral Checklist from the Parent
-
Behavioral Checklist from the Teacher
Once all the required information is gathered, a
campus committee comprised of the Principal, G/T Specialist, and the Counselor
determines the students' selection to the program. |
