Use this handy notetaking sheet to guide you through your research. It is called a Double Entry Journal. First write down the interesting information that you find from your sources in the first column, then write what you think about this information in the second column. We really want to know what you think and feel about this information! You will be answering five required questions beside your own questions in order to complete your research project. Keep these questions in mind as you read about your insect. You will be working with five sources, so print out five Notetaking sheets. Notetaking Sheet 1. Look up the definition of an insect in the dictionary listed above. Write the answer on your notetaking sheet. Next look up the definition of your insect in the dictionary listed above. Write that defintion on your notetaking sheet. Read what you have written and think about what you now know about your insect. 2. Find your insect in the encyclopedia. Write down all that you think is important and don't forget to also write down what you think and feel about this information. 3. Find at least two books that you think would give you some helpful information about your insect. Right now you will only be selecting them by their titles. Print out a list of books that are about your insect and circle all the titles that you think would be great. You will be going to the library in the next part of this project and you can use this list to help you find some great books. 4. Look through these websites and find information on your insect. Write down all that is important and then write down what you think and feel about this information. |
