A Little About Me…

I am so “hoppy” to be teaching Kindergarten at Helotes Elementary. I have taught Kinder and first grade in Judson District for seven years. I taught one year of Pre-Kindergarten in Austin while getting my Masters from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). I received my Bachelors from SWT, also. ? I think Helotes is a wonderful school and I look forward to being apart of such an EXEMPLARY campus and community!
I am a military brat, however fortunately for me, we did not move around too often. I have lived in San Antonio for the majority of my life. I went to Olympia Elementary, Kitty Hawk J.H, and graduated from Judson in 1991.
Family is very important to me and fortunately for me my parents live here, so I get to see them often. My parents met while my dad was stationed in Germany, where my mom was born and raised. They have just celebrated their 40th anniversary this August by taking a trip to Hawaii. ? I have two older sisters. One lives in Germany with her husband and two children (Julia and Sebastian) and the other lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children (Alyssa, Samantha, and Anthony).
My husband Drue and I were married on March 22, 2003. We live near Madison H.S. with our two cats, Iggy and Squiggy, and our bird, Louie. We have known each other since the fifth grade. In fact we lived right down the street from one another. Both of our parents still live in the same neighborhood. Makes visiting at the holidays easy! ?
I enjoy spending my time at home with my husband. We enjoy watching movies and “remodeling” our home. We also enjoy barbequing and hanging out with friends and family. We also LOVE to go Canyon Lake! I enjoy scrapbooking, journaling, and SHOPPING for school things as well!
I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year! If you ever have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to come to me!
