Mrs. Casey
4th Grade Teacher
It’s a great privilege to be at Helotes Elementary. I recently moved here from Houston because of my husband’s (Mike) job of being an engineer for the F-16 aircraft.
I grew up in Chicago so yes I am a “Yankee” but
I got to Texas as fast as I could! I attended Indiana State University for
my undergraduate
degree
in broadcasting. After a short stint of working as a media buyer, I moved to
Egypt with my husband for six years, Portugal for one year, then to Houston,
and finally to here (which I hope to be in San Antonio for a very, long time).
You could say that traveling the world is in my blood.
During my stay in Houston, I got the itch to be in teaching. I believe that
kids have such great potential, and I love seeing the way their minds work
and how
they approach learning. So I went to the University of Houston and obtained
my elementary teaching certificate. I taught for five years at Ward Elementary
in
Clear Lake.
I have one daughter, Nicole who is an avid dancer and a freshman at Clark.
I also have one dog, Dewey a crazy six-year-old Cocker Spaniel!
Bulldogs rock!
