Mrs. Woodlee holds a BS in Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology, Counseling and Guidance from UTSA.  She holds a Teaching certificate and is a licensed professional counselor, L.P.C., for the state of Texas.  She has specialized training in special education, therapeutic art and play techniques, conflict resolution and Parenting With Love and Logic.  Before counseling, Mrs. Woodlee was a classroom teacher for grades 1-5 for thirteen years. Mrs. Woodlee has been at Helotes Elementary as a school counselor since 1983.  Helotes is like family.  It is a joy to work with  professional, caring staff  and administrators as well as our wonderful community.  This year she is working with kindergarten, second, third and fourth grade.

Career awareness, ways to deal with conflict, and a desire set goals are life skills to model and teach our children.  Being available to students, parents, teachers and administrators is important to Mrs. Woodlee.  Helping children be successful opens doors to learning and being the best you can be.  Finding the best way to connect with students is a quest.  Using art, sand tray, puppets, a listening ear, a pat on the back or a hug makes a difference.

All students are seen once every six day in class settings.  Small group and individual counseling is available upon request.  Mrs. Woodlee welcomes your your input and your questions.

Mrs. Woodlee's motto is:  "Work hard and play hard".  The beach is a favorite get away as well as Canyon Lake where skiing and swimming is enjoyed.  Traveling with family and friends is a way of energizing and recharging.

Six Pillars of Character

Goal Setting

The NISD Goal Setting Program is designed for students to set, implement, and evaluate personal goals related to learning, service, and/or responsibility. It is organized around the tenets goal setting process and is implemented through instructional and advisory programs by trained educators with the support of parents, community members, trained staff, and peers.

The Advisory Program

The Northside Independent School District Advisory Program, an integral component of the Pre K-12 educational program, enables students to belong and contribute to a community, apply the goal setting process, and develop academic, personal, social, and career competence. Students meet in small groups on a weekly basis with trained, caring advisors who are in partnership with parents to personally assist students.
