The Holmes Library was built in 1963 as part of the original school construction. It was completely demolished in 2003 and expanded and rebuilt in the same location. It opened for classes again in March, 2004.

The Oliver Wendell Holmes Library supports the Holmes High School mission which recognizes each student as a unique individual capable of making significant educational gains, especially when high expectations are the norm. The library plays a major support role by providing an environment rich in print, audiovisual, and 21 st century technology resources and by providing an environment conducive to the study and pursuit of lifelong learning and the development of one of life's greatest pleasures, recreational reading.
