Topic Hotlists, Treasure Hunts, Subject Samplers, and WebQuests target specific learning, rather than merely sending students to Web sites hoping they will find something useful. These web-based lessons are designed to aid students with cognitive thinking and learning.

BY DEFINTION:

TIP - Technology Integration Lesson Plan - these are lessons based on the content curriculum that can implement various degrees of technology in the learning process.
**To create your own TIP use this template.

HOT LIST -  a web page that can be used by your students as they research a particular topic.  Think of the topic hotlist as a way of organizing web-based resources for your students to use, in much the same way you would organize a resource center in your classroom.
**To create your own Topic Hot List use the template from Region 20.

TREASURE HUNT - Create a list of approximately 10 questions for the student to answer. Supply a list of links to web sites that will aid in answering the questions. Write a final question for the students to answer that serves as a summarizing act of some kind for the information listed.
**To create your own Treasure Hunt use the template from Region 20.

SUBJECT SAMPLER - A way to connect students to a lesson by selecting a main topic and presenting them with websites to retrieve info and make interpretations. Typically there are 4-5 activities, each activity consists of a web site and 3-5 questions related to that web site. Each of the activities should ask the student to make a personal commitment to what they like, believe, or feel about a topic. The student will write a short conclusion that reflects what they should have learned in completing this subject sampler.
**To create your own Subject Sampler use the template from Region 20.

WEB QUEST - A WebQuest is defined, by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University, as "an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the Internet." An inquiry based activity that provides a group of students with an interesting task that has on-line resources which promotes higher order thinking.
**To create your own Web Quest use the following templates from Region 20: teacher template and student template
