A search engine helps you find information you need to locate. All you need to do is key the word or several words that describe what you want and your search engine does the rest. The "engine" will produce a list of links that you may explore by clicking on each link.

TIP: If a link produces unwanted results back out of the site. If a link produces inappropriate results, report it to your teacher and back out of the site.

PRACTICE: Searching

  • Link to one of the Search Engines above
  • Wait for the page to load
  • Key the topic (i.e.-clipart) you want searched in the Search box appearing on the Search Engine web page and press Enter
  • A list of links appears that match your search
  • Visit the sites by following the links
  • Back out of a site to return to the list of sites to search
