Sarah and Abrahm were on board a very special ship, traveling through a strange and wonderful world. There were so many new sights to see! Sarah set the ship's controls on slow cruise, then settled in front of a big window.
"Look at that!" Abrahm shouted, pointing at something out the window.
Sarah pulled the ship in close to a funny-looking object that was attached to a rock. It looked like it was made up of dozens of long, skinny stalks. The stalks, which were swaying gently back and forth, all seemed to have little round tips.
Sarah and Abrahm decide to recruit special teams to help them investigate the wonders of the ocean.
The Quest
In this WebQuest, you will research an animal that lives in the ocean and describe its characteristics as well has its habitat.
In order to help Sarah and Abrahm, you have been assigned to this special mission. You and your team will dive into the ocean and explore. You will encounter many animals in your quest. You and your team will explore the layers of the ocean and the animals that live there. Your investigation will lead you to answer the following questions:
What might happen in a habitat if too many organisms are competing for the same food source?
What might happen in a food chain if one of the links (organisms) is removed?
How are producers and consumers interdependent?
Your team will create a flyer, a slide show, a brochure, or another project that your teacher approves, of your findings upon completion of your research.

You will research an animal. You will use both print and online resources.
You will use these questions to guide your research:
