The eligibility requirements for working as an instructional assistant in a Title I School in NISD are: |

| If an employee or applicant does not have at least 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university, the third option--testing--must be used to satisfy the NCLB requirements. What follows are the options available in NISD for satisfying the testing requirements for NCLB. |

| 1. Pass the math, reading, and writing sections of the TASP (Texas Academic Skills Program) or THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment.) The "Accuplacer" version may be used to satisfy this requirement. |
OR |
| 2. Be exempt from the TASP due to acceptable scores* on any of the following tests: SAT, ACT, Exit Level TAAS. |
