- How much does Northside Pay its teachers? Counselors? Librarians?
Reply: All professional salary scales can be found on our Base Pay Schedules page in this web site.
- Does this salary amount increase each year? By how much?
Reply: Most years. Salary increases are a function of the annual NISD budget process which takes into account State and Federal support, local revenue and teacher salary trends.
- From year to year, how can I calculate my annual salary increase?
Reply: Persons on "mid-point" salaries can calculate their salary increases from year to year, given the percentage of increase announced by the Superintendent. Click here to view those procedures.
- How often are employees paid in NISD? When are the pay dates?
Reply: Northside has two pay cycles for its employees--bi-weekly for auxiliary employees (maintenance, child nutrition workers, custodians, transportation employees, police officers) and monthly for all other employees. You may click here to view the pay dates.
- Is Social Security taken out of paychecks in Northside?
Reply: No. Northside ISD does not deduct FICA from regular employees' paychecks. Instead, all NISD employees automatically belong to the State's Teacher Retirement System and a contribution of ...% is made each pay period.
- Is there a separate salary scale for administrators?
Reply: Yes. There are three separate salary scales for administrators--one for certified positions, one for non-certified positions, and one for computer technology support. Click here to view the three salary schedules.
- What about all the other employees—secretaries, bus drivers, food service workers, etc.?

- Does NISD pay salary supplements or stipends to certain people? Which ones?
Reply:Northside pays numerous supplements and stipends for extra duty assignments and special qualifications. Click here to view these salary supplements.
- When are stipends or salary supplements paid to employees?
Reply: Eligible employees receive stipends and supplements beginning in September and every month thereafter with the exception of Spring stipends. These types of stipends are paid every April.
- Who should I contact if I notice a paycheck discrepancy?
Reply: Before contacting anyone, you should consult your salary notification provided to you at the beginning of the school year. This establishes the annual salary upon which your monthly salary is based. If you still feel that there is a discrepancy, you may contact the Compensation Office according to the staff assigned to your particular employee classification. - If I just work for NISD as a temporary or part time employee, can I find my salary rates on the internet somewhere?
