We are pleased to announce that Northside ISD has formed an academic partnership
with Lamar University to offer district employees a high-quality, fully accredited
master's degrees in Teacher Leadership and School Administration completed in 18
months for a preferred price of $4,950. The goal of this innovative partnership is to
offer Northside ISD employees the opportunity to participate in a relevant and
affordable master's degree program to promote professional growth. The District is
proud to offer this benefit to our employees.
Coursework in the M. Ed. Teacher Leadership is designed to expand and improve
teaching strategies and to enhance the ability to effectively manage instruction for
diverse learners. The M. Ed. School Administration is designed to develop instructional
leadership skills and also leads to a principal certification.

Like many school
districts across the state and the nation, Northside
ISD is experiencing a shortage of certified teachers
in certain teaching fields. Specifically, Northside
shares with the other districts a critical shortage
in the following teaching fields:

In an effort to curtail the
shortage, Northside encourages its teachers and other
certified staff to pursue additional certification
in one of these critical teaching shortage areas by
taking advantage of the many programs offered by local
universities.
