Teachers as Leaders

To ensure sustainability of professional development in teaching American history beyond the life of the grant, NISD's Leader College will give teachers opportunities to discuss and improve best teaching practices and effective ways to teach American history.

The goals of the NISD Teaching American History Collaborative's Leader College are to:

1. Add emphasis on teacher leadership development;
2. Help to develop mentoring skills to support the development of other history teachers;
3. Discuss tools to implement effective pedagogy and content.
