Booster Club Support Your Student Athletics and Spirit Clubs
Hello Booster Member, Yes, you are automatically a Booster member, if your son/daughter is in any sport or spirit organization such as Boys or Girls, Freshman, JV or Varsity, in Pep Squad, the Fillies or a Cheerleader. Welcome to the PROUDEST CLUB on campus, the Athletics/Spirit Booster Club. What does a Booster Club Member do? First on the list is to support our kids, second is to raise funds to offset expenditures that are not covered by the district budget, and third is to have fun. Here are some of the things that we do…
How much would I have to do? As much or as little as two or three events for the whole year. How much does it cost to be a member? Nothing, there are no membership dues. Do I have to come to the meetings? It is not mandatory, but we encourage you to attend the meetings so that you will have a voice and a vote on issues that come up during the year. We also make decisions on how the funds that we raise are put to use and find out about upcoming events on campus. I work during the day or I do not have a lot of time to volunteer, how can I help? It is not how much time you volunteer but maybe WHAT you volunteer. Are you a skilled professional like a carpenter, plumber, and electrician? Maybe you know someone that can supply food, are you a computer wiz? Can you make phone calls, distribute flyers, sell items in the evenings or on a Saturday? Let us know who you know and maybe we will make the connection. What goals does the Booster Club set for this year? We would like to offer more scholarships to graduating seniors, replace outdated and worn equipment, and start a memorial fund for current and former students and faculty. Who can I contact for more information? Call Nancy Medrano, President, at 286-4983; Willie Ramos, 1st President, at 673-2208; Rosenbert Hernandez, 2nd Vice President, at 670-8850; Roberta Ramos, Secretary, at 673-2208; Vivianne Almaraz, Treasurer, at 675-7181; or Josie Guerrero, Concessionaire, at 674-4379. To reach our goals we need your help. Please come to our next meeting or just give us a call to offer your help. We hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, John Jay Football Program Thank you to everyone who purchase an ad in the 2006 John Jay Football Program. Programs will be available at all varsity football games for $5.00.
